"There are some patients that aren't good candidates for this procedure. Patients who have total extrusion of the herniated disc in the canal or fragments of the disc in the canal - free fragments inside it - aren't good candidates for the procedure. In that case it is necessary to make an open surgery in order to take out the free fragments inside the disc."
