Dr. Ariel Rivera Aguerri graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Centro América and earned a degree in general surgery from the University of Costa Rica in 1997. Trained and experienced at international locations, Dr. Rivera has extensive experience in Minimal Invasive/Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal, Bariatric and General Surgery.

Dr. Rivera’s main focus remain Lap Band and Gastric Bypass Surgeries. Both these weight loss surgeries, preferred for patients with a BMI of 35-40 and/or with high blood pressure, diabetes or other such ailments.
