Thanks to highly qualified neuro surgeons and affordable treatments, medical tourists from overseas come to get the benefits of cervical spondylotic myelopathy surgery in India. Most spine surgeons in India are widely experienced and have good record in patient-satisfaction. Check out what this leading neurosurgeon from India has to say about the artificial disc surgery in India.
Following is the video narration.
“I am a neurosurgeon. I have been trained in Delhi and then I worked in some of the institutes in India like Nimhans Bangalore and Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute, Lucknow. So I have 24 years of experience in neuro surgery after training.
I did a fellowship in Nagoya University in 94 with Professor Sugita who is a renowned neurosurgeon in vascular surgery and a technical innovator. And through him in his …….learnt vascular and the skull base surgery. Apart from that I have worked in skull base surgery in India for quite some time.
“We have quite a bit of publications. I have almost 60 papers in national and international journals and I have presented papers in more than maybe 50 in national and some of them international conferences. I have, about say, 30 more guest lectures on invited talks and also as a faculty in some of the operative workshops in spine and the brain.
“My other field of work is endoscopic work and for last ten years, I have been working using endoscopic removal of pituitary tumors and I use the binasal technique for doing tumors.
“I do all kind of spine. My main areas ofcourse cervical spine where all extensive spondylotic myelopathy where anterior and posterior approach is required. I do artificial disc replacement, has been done here for last 5-6 years. And I do vascular and tumor surgery of the brain.
“I get international patients mostly regional from Bangladesh, from the United Emirates, Iraq, Iran and occasionally from Pakistan but sizable patients come from African countries – Nigeria, Ethiopia, Kenya and some patients of course, very few in number do come from Canada and USA.
“We have a very internationally standard hospital where we have all the basic instruments which are required for neurosurgery and we have over last 5 years acquired neuronavigation for brain and spine surgery where we can during the surgery, sort of navigate our approach that how close and how much we have ruined the tumor.
“So, on a live tumor surgery or a spine surgery we can exactly know where we are so that the error of judgment, human judgement is sort of removed by this technique. We have highly evolved radiological setup with CT, MRI, and Angiograms for doing vascular studies and some of the monitoring systems we have and all the endoscopic and microscopic instruments which is required for these kinds of surgeries.”
In the video, the neuro surgeon from India speaks about his education and experience in the field of disc replacement. He also discusses the procedure of disc laser surgery in India. Till now, he has published more than 50 papers in the international journals.
