  • Bowel movement will be irregular for the first couple of weeks after the surgery and hence patients are encouraged to take laxatives. Straining at stools must be avoided as it may cause bleeding

The procedure is best suited for patients with bladder outlet obstruction due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). However there are some limitations,

  • The procedure is not suitable for patients with the prostate gland volume which is more than 250 cubic centimeters. In such cases it is best treated using an open surgical procedure
  • The procedure is also not suitable for patients suffering from neurogenic bladder disorders. This category of patients are treated with photo selective vaporization technique.
